Susan Beaumont MA, LLB, Dip LP, WS

Susan graduated from St. Andrews in 1989 and trained with JC&A Steuart in Edinburgh. Since becoming a lawyer she has founded and headed Pensions Departments in law firms in both the English and Scottish Jurisdictions. This gives her a unique insight into the interactions of the two systems of law and the ability to deal with Pensions matters that cross the border.

Susan has specialized in Pensions law for the past 13 years. She was the ‘in-house' lawyer at Scottish Amicable and is one of the few lawyers in the country to have first hand experience of the transfer of business between insurance companies as she was part of the team that undertook this work at Scottish Amicable. Whilst at Scottish Amicable, Susan worked on their Personal Pension Scheme and thus gained a unique insight into the machinations and convoluted structure of Insurance Companies Pension Schemes.

Susan was solely responsible for designing the first Protected Rights SIPP - which was accepted by the Inland Revenue in March 2004.

Susan also specialises in syndicated property purchase within SIPPs. Her largest syndicate to date involved some 25 people and her largest property purchase was approximately £30 million.
